H&R Block Online is a web-based application that will help U.S. wage earners file federal taxes online.
Taxes are the kind of thing you shouldn't leave for later, as much as you might want to. Much like TaxAct and TurboTax, H&R Block Online is a popular finance and budget tool that helps you get your tax returns ready in no time. H&R Block Online features all the tools you need to prepare your federal and state tax return. Then you can choose to either e-file or print the return out and manually send it in.
Taxes are not an easy topic, but H&R Block Online makes it easier on everyone with a detailed Q&A section that covers all the important topics and offers you step-by-step directions in order to fill out the forms correctly.
H&R Block Online lets you prepare different sorts of tax returns (including 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ) and includes a series of special tools to help you obtain the highest refund possible. Unfortunately, it only covers basic taxes, so if you did 1099 contract work or have other, more complicated forms to file, you'll either need to upgrade to H&R Block Online's Deluxe or Premium version or do that filing yourself. There is also a filing fee for both federal and state returns that must be paid in order for you to submit your taxes. This isn't really something unique to H&R Block Online though, as you generally have to pay the fee with any online tax preparation web app.
If you're looking for easy, reliable tax software to prepare your basic tax returns however, H&R Block Online is definitely an excellent choice.
